Good evening all! Thank you for joining us on this fine Sunday evening. It's time for my nightly rant.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------

Just so you women don't think I am just about women bashing I will share something with you that's very dear. My recipe for Cube Steak with brown gravy.

Ingredients:

2 lbs of Cube Steaks. 2 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of Salt 1 teaspoons of pepper 2 packets of brown gravy mix 1 can of cream of mushroom 1 can of corn 2 cups of rice (Oriental Cal rose medium grain rice) 1 Tablespoon of margarine 1 cup vegetable oil

In a good sized bowl add flour, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Heat oil in a skillet on medium to medium high.

Roll each individual steak in the flour till both sides are covered thoroughly.

Place battered steaks in skillet and allow one side do brown before flipping it over.

When bottom side of cube steak and batter is golden brown flip the steak over and brown other side.

When both sides are a crispy golden brown remove from oil and place on a paper napkin to drain off excess oil.

Wash skillet.

Add 2 cups of water and two packets of brown gravy mix into skillet and stir till powder dissolves thoroughly using medium heat.

Add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup mix to skillet. Add 1 can of water to the skillet.

Stir until mushroom soup is mixed thoroughly into gravy mix.

Bring to a rolling boil then reduce the heat till the gravy is at a low simmer.

Add Cooked cube steaks to gravy. Cover and let simmer until gravy quickens (Thickens).

Occasionally flip steaks over to allow the breading to soak in the gravy.

once gravy is thickened to your liking remove skillet from heat and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.

Place the can of corn into a small sauce pan and heat add margarine. Remove from heat when butter is completely melted.

Add 2 cups of rice to a rice cooker or medium sauce pan. Rinse rice 2 or 3 times to remove the dust. Drain all excess water from uncooked rice. Add 2 and a half cups of rice. If cooking on stove bring rice to a rolling boil then reduce to a medium boil checking often until water is cooked out of the rice and rice is sticky but not dry. If using a rice cooker just push the on button and the pot will do the rest.

Serves a family of 4.

Takes about a half hour.

Hope you enjoy it!
